Apparently, Peluso has Moves Like Jagger
Here's a selection from an a recent e-mail
Peluso received from engineer Matt Cliffords
about his session with Mick Jagger and the
P-67:

"Dear Peluso People, Greetings from London!
I recently borrowed one of your P-67 mics
to use on some sessions with Mick Jagger
in Paris. I've worked with Mick, writing and
producing, for twenty years since touring
with the Stones on the Steel Wheels tour.
I was intrigued to compare it with the U-67
we'd recently hired to complete some of the
"new/old" tracks for the Some Girls re-issue
box set.

Suffice to say it measured up great.
I used it to record Mick's vocal, acoustic
and some percussion overdubs. He called it
"The Sparkler"! (I think this was a reference
to the shiny finish rather than the sound
quality!) ... your mics offer exactly the sort
of combination of "vintage" sound quality and
modern reliability that I'm looking for in my
production work with the Stones and others.
Anyhow, I just wanted to say 'keep up the
good work'! Regards Matt."

Look Who Else is Using Pelusos!
Guys who know good vintage microphones,
that's who!

(John Lennon, Aerosmith,
Cheap Trick, Miles Davis)

(Dire Straits, George Strait,
Eric Clapton, The Band Perry)

(Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson,
Colbie Caliiat, Roseanne Cash)

Price Match Guarantee, Lower Prices
We're an internet based business, right? Which
means we KNOW you shop around. We always
follow the CANADA/USD exchange rate, so
the stereotype, "it costs more in Canada for no
particular reason," does not apply to Peluso
Microphones. We will match any verifiable USD
pricing on a new mic... and since the Canadian
Dollar is strong these days, we just dropped
our prices again! We're a deal ok? We like it that
way. Buy in Canada. We'll look after your warranty
personally too. It's not like we sell a zillion
brands.

Arcade Fire wins 2011 Album of The Year GRAMMY,
Polaris Prize, Brit Awards, Junos... etc etc etc.

Yay! Congratulations to the Arcade Fire, whose
album "The Suburbs" debuted at #1 in Canada,
the UK and the USA last year, then shocked
many by winning the Album of the Year GRAMMY.
They shocked no-one recently by winning the
prestigious Polaris Prize in September 2011.
The band has a pair of Peluso P-28s at their
Farnham studio where they recorded the
bulk of Suburbs... often used on piano last I
heard. Also recorded at Farnham were fellow
Polaris nominees Timber Timbre and Colin Stetson.
AF guitarist Richard Reed-Parry also owns
a 2247LE.

Great Lake Swimmers, The Once use Pelusos
Always great to hear Peluso mics on some
great Canadian music. Great Lake Swimmers
used a P12 on their last record, along with a
couple APEX 460 mics modded with our
popular APEX 460 Mod Kit. Read about
that here, and award winning Maritime
harmonizers The Once can be seen with a
22 251 in their video for "You're my Best
Friend" here. It appears the recording is
occurring live on just the one mic. Nice!

2247 SE Reviews
We don't often post reviews... which doesn't
make much sense I'll grant you, but people
always take them with a grain of salt, right?
That's why we have a 7 day money-back
guarantee. When we're spending 1-2K on
audio gear, we don't take anyone's word for it
either. So if you buy a Peluso and don't like
it, we'll take it back. That simplifies it!

All that said, here's a couple terrific reviews
from years gone by of the 2247SE.

...plus Two Stellar Reviews of the
Peluso P-12
It's a little hard to get in Canada, but Tape Op
printed a review of the P-12, and it's quite glowing.
It's here.

Barry Rudolph also weighs in on the P-12,
see his review here.. It features an interesting
play-by-play of its use on a new Pat Benetar
album he's recording.

Don't believe the reviews! We have a money
back guarantee. Did I mention that? I did,
right.

 NEW! P-67, the Peluso version
of the legendary U-67 is now available
The new P-67 is now in, featuring a new,
upgraded, military grade 8-pin cable. It's like
the 1960's all over again! The heavy duty 8
Pin cable is now also standard on 2247 LE, SE,
P12 and 22 251 models. Shortly the whole
line will be switched over. See the P-67 here.

The Wailin' Jennys on Tour with
Peluso CEMC6 mics

Winnipeg based folk trio The Wailin' Jennys have
been touring all summer using Peluso CEMC6 mics
on their acoustic instruments. Also, check out
their recent live album which was recorded using
a Peluso P-Stereo as a room mic, which I am told
accounts for much of the sound of this excellent
sounding live album. Pictures to come soon.

Polaris Prize Short List
Always nice to see the customers do well!
Congratulations to Polaris Prize Short List
nominee Dan Mangan, who recorded his album
"Nice, Very Nice" with John Critchley at his
Green Door Studios in Toronto. All lead vocals
for the album were recorded with a Peluso
2247LE. As well, Broken Social Scene's
nominated "Forgiveness Rock Record" was
recorded in part at Giant Studios in Toronto,
which is owned by Metric's Jimmy Shaw.
Giant also has a 2247LE.

NEW! Peluso Active Direct Box is now available

The Peluso PADB Active Direct Box has just
become available. It's unique in that it isolates
your instrument from the amplifier electronically
while not loading down the pickups. This gives
the instrument greater sustain than even your
amplifier! (It's true, I didn't believe it either)

I've sent one to a top end client for testing, and
I've been told I'm not getting it back... Remember
we offer a 7-day money back guarantee on all mic
purchases (and on this DI too) so you can try it in
your studio at no risk.

Ian Tyson heard his guitar through it recently
and said "that's the best guitar sound I've ever
had!"

NEW! New capsules and mounts available
We now have 2 new models of mic capsule
available, the CEK-12-2 is a direct replacement
for an AKG C414 capsule, and fits all revisions...
I also think it's a massive improvement but that's
just me.

We also now have the P-K67 capsule, the closest
replica of the Neumann K67 capsule Peluso
has issued to date. It is a direct fit in the U67
and U87A.

Visit our capsules page for links.

Lastly, we also now stock a replacement yoke
mount for the Neumann M49/50 style mics.

working correctly... thanks for your patience!

Congratulations to the Polaris Prize nominees!
The Polaris Prize nominee list was just released
and we were quite tickled to see 3 of the 10
shortlisted albums were recorded by our clients.

Congratulations to John Critchley of
Green Door Studios (Elliott Brood - Mountain
Meadows), Andy Magoffin of the House of Miracles
(Great Lake Swimmers - Lost Channels) and
Jimmy Shaw of Metric (Metric - Fantasies).

"The Polaris Music Prize is a music award annually
given to the best full-length Canadian album based
on artistic merit, regardless of genre, sales, or
record label." - Wikipedia

February 12, 2008: Price Match Guarantee
for Canadian Customers
If you find a better verifiable price on a
new Peluso mic anywhere, we'll beat it.
This includes factoring in the always bouncing
currency exchange. Why pay duty and wait
longer to have a mic imported from the US?
